My second build entirely from parts is this Telecaster style. I ordered the body from Walmart, a Muslady product advertised as Sycamore (I really don’t know what it is). This wood is very light, similar to the Paulownia in my DIY #7 P-style bass. The Canadian maple neck came from an eBay seller, and most of the other parts were ordered from Amazon. The body is finished in Tru Oil Gunstock Finish with a couple of coats of Minwax Wipe-On Poly to make the surface a little harder.
I originally built this like a Fender Telecaster Esquire, having only the bridge pickup. I didn’t really find the sound that great, so I converted it to a standard Telecaster configuration and was very happy with it.
