DIY #16 Les Paul Style

One of my very favorite projects, this is a Les Paul style from Bad Cat Instruments. I won an auction for this kit in a Bad Cat Facebook group. It has a quilted maple top, a mahogany body, and a mahogany set neck. I love the binding and the quilted maple with the same binding at the headstock.

Remembering how the Tru Oil Gunstock Finish changed the color on my green LP-style 12-string, I did some experimenting before finishing this. The Keda Wood Dye on the quilted maple is actually a pink color, and the Tru Oil Gunstock Finish turned to a beautiful bold red. The gold hardware sets this off. It came with gold knurled knobs, but I chose to put black speed knobs on instead. The kit also came with fake Grover tuners, similar to the ones in my Pango kit, so I decided to use Graph Tech Ratio Machine Heads on this kit as well. The back, sides, and neck are finished with Tru Oil Gunstock Finish.
